It lists the following frequencies:
LTE Dual Band (700Mhz/AWS)
HSPA+ 21 Mbps Tri Band (850/1900/2100Mhz)
EDGE/GPRS/GSM Quad Band (850/900/1800/1900MHz)

So I want to say yes to the 2100 and no to the 1700 frequencies, but I just honestly don't know. If you give those numbers to your provider they can answer for sure.

Gabby,

First, Thanks for reading the blog, I love when people comment! Makes me continue maintaining and posting on this hobby site of mine.

Second, If your friend has a iPhone 3GS he will not have the wifi option. That is only available on a jailbroken 3GS or a newer iPhone 4 or 4S.

Jailbreaking his device is easy, however it will void the warrenty. Should you require any more assistance with that or anything else, do not hesitate to email me or post here.

So my friend is also having the same problem. He tried to use the personal wifi on his 3G S and when you turn it on it doesn't give him the Wi Fi option, there's no password section at all. The only thing that is visible are two options: Bluetooth and USB. I reset his network settings and it didn't solve the problem. He currently is contemplating the purchase of an apple iPad but is slightly discouraged because if the personal hotspot isn't working than he wouldn't be able to easily access the internet on his Wi Fi by using his 3G S phone.
